I rated some movies in certain order in one day. But when I click on "Your-Ratings" under my account, it lists movies in different order than I entered them. There is no logical, rational, or technical (from S/W point of view) reason to do that. That's a very simple s/w task: to list the entries in the same order that they've been entered. I hope u fix this problem.

There is a sorting option on the your-ratings page. It's up to you how you set the display. One of the options is recently-rated. There's also 6 other ways that you can choose how to sort the pages.

So, go ahead and sort it any way you want...

Vincent, I'm very well aware of the sorting option by date. I guess u didn't read my comment carefully, & missed my point, which I expressed in the very 1st line of my original comment. The issue that I brought up was about entering some movies in one day (same day), not across different days. That's the problem.

BTW, is there any way to change the category of this entry from "Question" to "Problem"? I didn't find any way to do that.

Your point was not clear; entering them "all in one day" has nothing to do with how sorting works. You are essentially asking for more granularity in the recently sorted option, which is not so much a problem as it is a suggestion to change what sorting methods are currently available.

If your suggested change was more clear I have a feeling I wouldn't have been the only one to respond as its quite common for help-users to correct each other if they miss something obvious.

Personally my list shows up in exactly the order I created it, but I've never kept track of how much time passes between entries for it to work that way, Nor do I think it's clear that you were inferring the "all in one day" method of inputting data was some how influencing (or not influencing) the "recently added" sort option in the way you were hoping it does.

It sounded to me like you had it set to AtoZ or some other method you didn't like and what you were looking for was "recently" as the sorting option. You would be surprised how often simple questions like this get asked around here.

Anyway; as for changing post categories I believe IMDB staff can change them if a topic is getting attention and needs a more accurate category.

Good luck with your suggestion.

I know exactly what @orion means because it's not an isolated problem. To put it another way, the problem is simply that sorting by "recently rated" __does not__ sort by date & time. That's it, really.

Sorting by "recently rated" should always sort by date & time. I think the only reason your own list "shows up in exactly the order" you created it is because you haven't rated more than one entry in a single day.
