I think you forgot to write "HAL [...]". You wrote "- 2001: A Space Odyssey"
My vote goes to: Harry Lime from The Third Man
and Roger 'Verbal' Kint from The Usual Suspects.

Thank you. I have asked for a poll re-push.

The previous character page for Hal 9000 was removed from IMDb database. That's why it was not showing in the poll.

They are antiheroes in the very very broad sense of the word, as central protagonists lacking heroic attributes, but with that definition in mind, you can't make any distinction between goodies and baddies anymore, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Bonnie and Clyde, Dirty Harry, Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle, Travis Bickle, Thelma and Louise are ALL antiheroes, but it's not like they have the same attitude toward what is 'morally acceptable' and what is not.

Michael Corleone in Part II and Alex De Large are close-to-psychopathic characters committing crimes for individual reasons and displaying a total absence of empathy, Michael near the end of the film and Alex in the beginning, whether Michael was driven into that corner by circumstances and Alex sort of redeemed himself in the end doesn't clear them from what they did throughout the film.

If you consider the definition of villains which is a character whose evil actions drive the plot, well then it works for both Corleone and De Large.
