Does anyone know the film where it ends with the fathers girlfriend, sacrificing her life to protect his children from small creatures in the house that are trying to kill them? I think he did something like warded them off with salt or something. I think its a 2000s fantasy film.

You may be mixing some of the details with The Spiderwyck Chronicles. I don't remember any salt in Don't be Afraid of the Dark.
Oh my gosh, yeah. I think my child brain mashed them both up for some reason cuz I had a dream or smth.
Well, both have weird little creatures in a big creaky house. So as mash-ups go it's not a bad one
