“I do not have a disability, I have a gift! Others may see it as a disability, but I see it as a challenge. This challenge is a gift because I have to become stronger to get around it, and smarter to figure out how to use it; others should be so lucky.” ― Shane E. Bryan

These poll suggestions are the continuation of a related poll suggestion for disabled superheroes (part one) and disabled supervillains (part two) PS: Most Impressive Disabled Superhero or Supervillain?. I have created a separate thread for these equally impressive disabled regular heroic, anti-heroic, or villainous characters, but have labeled them part three and part four to distinguish them.

PART 1: Most Impressive Disabled Superhero?

Thanks, I think it is important to recognize how the "disabled" can excel, both as superheroes and supervillains, as well as, everyday heroes and villains. I also think as a group, they both have members that are capable of good and bad. There seems to be some push back on the Evil Cripple Trope and the Five Common Harmful Representations of Disability. But, I don't think the criticism fully recognizes that, as a group, they BOTH are probably over-represented proportionally in each category.

Psychopathy is considered mentally disabled in some country,  He can be also considered as a sociopath because he is often very nervous and disorganized, he can also be bi-polar and he is often considered as schizophrenic.

cinephile, in most countries, though, psychopathy is effectively "sane" when it comes to prosecution for one's crimes.

As someone with a (slight) disability I'd say that one needs to be proven to be disabled officially to be included.

The number of characters who likely will qualify ifor any type of disability is so great, I am going to further qualify the question to physical disabilities. I will likely do a separate do a thread dedicated to that particular type.

EXAMPLE OF TYPES
  • vision Impairment.
  • deaf or hard of hearing.
  • mental health conditions.
  • intellectual disability.
  • acquired brain injury.
  • autism spectrum disorder.
  • physical disability.

Maybe Joker isn't a psychopath, but he is incarcerated in Arkham Asylum psychiatric hospital which proves that he is mentally ill. We don't whats is his intellectual disability and honestly, we will never know for 2 reasons.

1-The character is better without too much explaining

2- The last creator of the Joker is dead in 2018 and he never told us what was the disability of the joker

But we know for a fact that he has probably one of these ones:

You can't deny it

You said ''I'd say that one needs to be proven to be disabled officially to be included.  ''

I think we have enough prooves at least Arkham had enough

Finally,  if you don't want to call him psychopath because in USA Psychopathy is not a mental disorder than you could call him Schizophrenic assumed according to Dr Peter Byrne, a film expert, and consultant psychiatrist at Newham University Hospital.

"You can't deny it". I would question what you consider fact vs. opinion. In order to make this less about opinion, I have been using the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) definition and parameters to determine which characters qualify. Again, the issue is a non-issue as I will be further limiting this thread to physical disabilities.

I forgot, Forrest Gump is not mentally retarded he has a 75 IQ to be considered mentally retarded you must have below 70 IQ,  and he can't be considered as Autist because the author of the book never specify him to be Autist.

cinephile, as far as I know retarded is considered a derogatory term and... IQ tests are not reliable in that area: my results are anywhere from 60 to 120 in such tests, depending on many factors. I am probably somewhat closer to the latter, but still.
