I tried to add my comment here: http://www.imdb.com/list/Dyo3eVe84JM/?ref_=bio_rls_3
but couldn't. The problem is "Comment using..." What is that all about? I don't
have a Facebook account and I'm never going to have a Facebook account. Is there
a way for me to leave a comment?

Hi markfilipak -

IMDb uses Facebook comments on our news stories and lists to enhance the quality of
discussion on IMDb.  Unfortunately, if you don't have a Facebook account you won't be able to comment at this time, however, you are still able to read the existing comments.

Well, then damn well fix it. You have means for people to sign in using Hotmail, Yahoo, and Facebook. But registered users of IMDb and Google users cannot. I think this is biased. I don't buy your reasoning. Facebook sucks anyway and they are losing Facebook users and I am so so glad. Facebook steals users private information and passing it on to everyone. That is invasion of our privacy. We have constitutional rights to privacy. We should find out the CEO's private information and splatter it all over the internet like he does ours. Fair is fair. Facebook needs to be shut down, seriously. It's a loser site.

Daphne,

I liked your reply as much as you liked mine, but since I'm not a Facebook user, I can push the 'Like' link all I want and you'll not know it.  ....but now you do! Cheers!

"IMDb uses Facebook comments on our news stories and lists to enhance the quality of discussion on IMDb."

You have 'enhanced' it out of the reach of a number of people. Anyone who does not have Facebook is now unable to comment on lists. The same is true for people like me who have different email accounts for IMDb and Facebook.  I have a specific account for twitter and Facebook and do not want all the messages I get from IMDb filling it up. Therefore, I too am unable to comment.

It seems to me that IMDb is no longer respecting the people who are primarily interested in Films in order to cater to those who are more interested in the social aspects of the sit.

It doesn't enhance it. They just are helping out FB so FB can get our information. FB has been taking everyone's information for years to help advertisers and the big kicker is is that they give all our info to the government. Once you sign up on FB you have permanently lost your privacy. Don't sign up on it or you will be sorry. Suckerberg is a pullock tosser/wanker. He is another one of the illuminati. He helps the government for brownie points and money. He is pure evil.

Well, the loss of Phil Hoffman shows there's bigger tragedies than not being able to leave a comment on an IMDB page, but not being able to leave a comment still sucks! Kindly convey my utter disappointment to the web-devs. In the meantime, I'm crushed flat.

PS: How the heck does Facebook "enhance the quality of discussion on IMDb"? The quality of my comments is missing.

Exactly. I comment on films because I enjoy films and discussing films, I have no interest whatsoever in facebook and resent being told to get hundreds of 'friends' just so I can comment on films.

Can you please sort out this mess? I am unable to comment simply because I refuse to have a facebook account. This is discrimination on a large scale, and you cannot force people to use a service if they don't want to.
Get your fingers out and sort it out IMDB. You used to be a site for the people, now it seems you are a site against the people.

@markfilipak Ok, I'll concentrate on what I want. What I want is to be able to post without being FORCED (That's for Vincent as his logic seems to come from another world) to have to open a Facebook account. And to answer your one word question; No, it's not okay.

... not as a bump to a question that is considered answered.
I replied just one hour after you replied.
Was my reply an unwarranted "bump"?  Have I no right to speak here?
I'm so terribly sorry.  Please accept my very humblest of apologies.
I'll exit the discussion now.

Why all the bitching and complaining. I agree that a person can leave a comment without using FB. Free country...right? FB only wants your personal information to pass on to the government. This all has to do with privacy. If a person has to sign up on FB then your privacy is long gone. Anyway, this is getting way to long. What is it to you that a person wants to make a comment without using FB to make the comment? Do you have some vested interest in it Mr. Shill? Remember, you can't use the commode to take a shit unless you sign up on FB.

Why don't you show the pictures of these dogs.

Well....  with 90% of posts here at GS are about Lists and Polls it seems (some polite word needed) that WE can not comment on a List w/o Facebook

I wanted to add a list of similar lists to lists in Comments

this does not work...

I don't have a Facebook account and will never have one.  They are biased, racist and democrats.  Blahhh!!!  I can do without that kind of drama.  I wonder why I stick around IMDB when they've taken away the comment forums for actors and movies.  And you can only reply to someone's list or poll if you have a FB account.  IMDB has short sighted themselves because more than 89M people have Google+ accounts, plus there is Yahoo, Live Mail, Disquis and many more venues to make comments other than FB.  But what do you bet that FB has a contract with IMDB to use only their comment section, which is most likely why IMDB members are denied alternate choices.
