If you think someone is being abusive and you want them to stop, a good first step would be not replying to all of their posts.

Peter is the real voice of reason. Some of these threads are an embarrassment to the IMDb contributors. Some of these (even banned) people are also victims.

This contributor, Filmlover24 abused a Champion and a Staff Member.

You both have just engaged in the same behavior that the both of you have just accused me of right here. Right now. I know what I have done. I was trying my level best to calm an individual down. This was done prior to this group of posts. You did not read those before commenting here. If intervention had been in place the last time that Filmlover24 was out of line, we would not be here discussing these things. All of these like topics I have posted in the last 6 months was to make staff aware of the fact that a lot of over the top abusive swearing was being used and had gone unnoticed. I was hoping that it would bring attention to the issue. But sadly all it has done is make me a target of abuse myself. These things don't just go away on their own. If I can notice these over the top verbal abuses, then where is someone to address them? Champions don't have the actual time to read all the posts. You are all awarded your status and given limited administrative abilities. I have witnessed random removal of posts that did not contain angry replies or swear words that were meant to inflame. Innocent remarks mind you. Bad taste remarks. But removed none the less. But where was staff, G.S. Mods, or the Champions here on this one?

This contributor was abusive prior to my ever replying to him.

The Story:

I replied Peter because he posted the same post on one subject 5 times. He got a thoughtful early reply from one Champion. While it pretty much backed up what was later to be Michelle's decision based on my and Nikolay's first thread input, the individual would not accept no for an answer.

On the second Post gromit82 who was not aware I believe of the first post replied without the knowledge of the first decision made by Michelle based on my research and Nikolay's. So I posted Michelle's reply denying his request from the first post. This was to inform gromit82 that he was dealing with a post where a decision had been made already on the individuals first request for removal of a companies name from the database. I did not want gromit82 to get into a situation of contradicting an Employee or another Champion unknowingly without the knowledge of the decision made by Michelle. I did so on the rest of his brand new posts as a first reply on those subsequent attempts so that contributors would not waste time on the topic or say something that would give this individual any fuel to actually make him think that Michelle had made an incorrect decision. Again protecting my fellow contributors.

Now while this individual who has been making abusive comments long before these posts that you have only just now read and are commenting on, was led to believe that his abuse was acceptable behavior because no one had taken the time in an official capacity to make comments directly to the individual. That's the embarrassment here.

Fortunately we can talk here as this thread is about abuse. I realize that both of you in some form dislike me. It does not bother me in the least. I'm from the USA. A lot of people that contribute here are not from the USA. Peter, you and E-Boy are not from The USA. I know this from being here for this short time. I respect both of you tremendously.

But Filmlover24 was an American. I can tell because as the old saying goes, "It takes one to know one" applies here. I and a lot of Americans can sometimes be considered very rude and arrogant. I can be that way unintentionally/subconsciously, and while neither of you have read every word I have posted nor read every thread I have replied to, you both have chosen to consider me in that category, and that somehow I need "Shaming" from both of you based on the few times our paths have crossed. If Filmlover24's errant behavior been addressed earlier this would not have happened.
I have noticed that with the absence of Col Needham from here for the last 90 days that these individuals that abuse the staff with vile language and threats like this have gone unchecked. No one has taken up the slack while he is away. He was the boards true monitor. His absence is sorely missed.

Again, a thank you to both of you for your input.
You have attempted to inform me and instruct me which is a good thing. But I was already aware.
If I was like some people, I would be angry at this. But I'm not that way.
Your hearts are in the right place. I Think. I hope.
