Just watched An American in Paris (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043278/combined) for the first time in about twenty years. In the opening credits, there is a card (verbatim) "And Presenting The American In Paris Ballet", The American in Paris Ballet which is listed among the cast based on this card. I would like opinions if this is correct or incorrect i.e. that there should be a cast member listed as The American In Paris Ballet in IMDb. In my opinion, the card is in reference to the ballet itself and not the performers of the ballet (as in most dance cases the dancers as a company would be called a "troupe" i.e. The American In Paris Ballet Troupe). Thus in my view, The American In Paris Ballet should be deleted from the movie cast list. FYI, this card is shown immediately after the other five individuals listed as the cast. And the cast is verified as complete in the above link.

I have attached an image of that card (apologies for the quality as it is taken off my antiquated television).

If it is deleted as "cast", should the American In Paris Ballet be listed elsewhere on IMDb's An American in Paris page based on this card?

I tend to agree. The final dance scene is commonly referred to as the American in Paris Ballet, see for instance:

Hi Gene,

I also agree, I've removed the name page based on the above. You could add it as a crazy credit or an item of trivia on the page.
