Adam: Question about IMDb Investigation of Problem Users

Hi Adam, off topic question, but can you please tell me if I've ever been investigated or considered a problem user?
For over 5 years I've had tremendous problems getting my submissions accepted, even after submitting evidence for years, I still have problems to this day.
Seeing that "We have processes in place to identify" users makes me wonder if I'm on the bad list. Please respond.
Thank you, kindly.

We do not discuss account specifics like this, sorry.  Everything is covered in the Contributors Charter @ http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?contributorscharter

Thank you, Mr. Needham. I was just doing as Adam requested, creating a new thread for this specific question.

I did read the charter and it states:

"IMDb tracks each contributor's accuracy over time and if any contributor repeatedly submits data which is inaccurate or which violates our policies, their contributions will require increasing levels of additional proof in order to be processed."

I estimate that I've submitted proof (via screenshot of credits) or some other form of evidence to support over 100 data entries in the last few years, all of which are accurate and have eventually been accepted.

Can you please tell me what more it will take on my end to make the necessity for "increasing levels of additional proof," to eventually no longer be an issue?

I do everything requested of me and I still face the same problem I did years ago.

Humbly and grateful,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for posting a new thread. As Col outlined we don't discuss internal workings of IMDb however are there any submissions in particular that you are concerned about that haven't gone live?

Regards,
Adam

The submission in this thread hasn't gone through yet:

https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topi...

It's past its processing date.

More importantly and related to the above question, I have another data entry to add, but due to the confidential nature of the production company for the next credit I wish to add, I cannot include any evidence without risking my job on that confidential production.

However, because IMDb keeps track of submissions that aren't accepted and counts that in its process toward its decision factor of future accepted data entries, I'm hesitant to add this next credit.

Most likely, given my experience, it will be rejected, and I will not be able to submit any evidence without putting my job in jeopardy.

And if I do try to add it and it gets rejected, it just makes the problem worse.

So what should I do?

I've proven beyond a doubt by now that I am a reliable user, and other members of this forum will attest to that.

Do you understand where I'm coming from?

I only have the best intentions to add accurate data.

Also, may I get an answer to my last question to Mr Needham if permitted?

I asked:
"Can you please tell me what more it will take on my end to make the necessity for "increasing levels of additional proof," to eventually no longer be an issue?"

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the detailed post. I understand your concerns. With regards to the specific credit that you feel is rather sensitive. Could you head over to the help desk and contact us separately about that one via private message.

Helpdesk

With normal submissions however, the key to helping us vet them quickly and accurately is always supplying good supporting URLs and good comments explaining the addition/modification. This is especially true for any deletes.

Please do continue to submit your credits and do feel free to continue to reach out on get-satisfaction with any issues you experience. We are always here to help dig into any problems and get to the bottom for you.

Thanks,
Adam

Thank you, Adam. I certainly will.
Having my credits as updated as possible is invaluable to my career as a stuntman. What productions one works on speaks volumes about his or her level in the business. IMDb is always the first place anyone looks to see if someone is legitimate or qualified to do their job. It's frustrating when my peers submit their credits and they will be accepted sometimes within a few hours, whereas I have to jump through hoops to have the same thing done.

While you may not be permitted to discuss the inner workings of IMDb, I humbly request that you please look into my status as a contributor. If there is anything you can do to help make my contributions go through faster and without as many problems like I have faced over the last five years (and without my having to prove each one every time), I kindly request that you do whatever you can to help.

Most sincerely and gratefully,
Stephen

Hey Adam, just wanted to let you know two things:

1) I submitted a change in my bio section.

Contribution #160807-202600-301000

It did not get accepted.

I find this extremely odd, but not surprising, given my past of having difficulty getting submissions accepted. However, this is biographical data. It's not even credits.
I know Col said that employees do not discuss the internal workings of IMDb, but when bio data is rejected, I find that puzzling. Maybe it's worth looking into.

2) I submitted the credit last night that I previously told you about, for which I cannot publicly display evidence for.

Contribution #160810-065359-519000

Maybe you are interested in keeping a look out for it.

Thanks so much again for all your help!
Steve
