I ask that whoever is in charge of the ideas and suggestions on GS seriously consider this. The quiz questions could be verified to be true so no incorrect information would get out there. I think it would be a very popular addition to the site and very fun for the users.
Thank you!

There have been various attempts to have a quiz section for IMDb. This is documentation on the latest attempt by the IMDb Technical Staff. Please note: the links in the document no longer work.
The New IMDb Quiz.docx

In principle, having a quiz section is a good idea. Unfortunately, there was not enough interest by prospective quiz authors in 2015 when this was proposed.

Disclaimer: If it is out of line to post a "petition" in GS, I am not aware of it. This is not meant to put pressure on the IMDb Rep; they can only do what they feel is necessary and possible.
This is a petition for IMDb to add a Quiz Section to their website, with quizzes contributed by users. As I understand it, this idea was brought a few years ago, but apparently scrapped due to low interest of quiz makers. If you are interested in authoring quizzes pertaining to movies, shows, music, celebrities, etc, please comment. Thank you.

E.g. How the system is going to set the right questions in your area of interest, and not mixing it with Indian movies, Russian videogames, German series, Japanese celebrities...?

If this was a thing, I doubt everybody on GS will make quizzes. It may just be me and a handful of other users. There will still be plenty of people to play the games. As far as having quizzes for everyone's favorites, that could be do-able. I mean, I'm not really a Game of Thrones watcher, for instance, but there's many who are. They can do those quizzes. I can do my stuff: oldies shows, B movies, etc. :) If someone makes a GOT or Russian videogame test, I don't have to play that one - people who know of it can. The quizzes would also probably be approved, so if a quiz idea was too narrow, it could be denied. Just like the poll suggestions. Hope that made sense. I guess I just really want this to happen. :) Thanks for listening.

@NIA: OK, sorry, I reread your initial topic, and I thought you wanted system-generated quizzes. My mistake!
Of course, quizzes should be setup and proposed by contributors, to make the questions consistent, challenging and fun.
But from past experience (I was participating heavily to the French cinema newsgroup 20 years ago - gosh, this is prehistoric Internet!!), you have to dedicate a lot of time to make it so!

Choice #5 Dr. No is a bad man.

(It may seem complicated from the first sight...)
Prerequisite ONE. By their structure, polls are open for all voters, including those having no idea about the context of some options.
Prerequisite TWO. Polls are open for all voters, either the question understood for them or not.
The above both are the problem when we need the poll results to be objective as much as possible. To make it objective, let be the poll after pre-quiz. For example:
A) Quiz for the poll-question itself, to be sure for its correct interpretation;
B) Quiz for the plot questions, concerning the optioned movies;
C) Let the poll to be opened to a voter who fulfilled "A" totally and "B" for 80%.

I am sympathetic to your suggestion. When the IMDb polls were removed from IMDb close to seven years ago, members of the IMDb Poll Message board on IMDb had to provide a business case for recreating the polls. The business case included showing that Poll Authors were willing and able to sustain poll creation: http://moviesdailypoll.blogspot.com/
Here are some considerations that IMDb needs to consider when implementing a new or recreating a feature.
1. Is there sufficient interest in the feature to justify the effort in creating the feature?
1a. Will there be sufficient interest in the future to justify creating the feature?
1b. Is there sufficient content to make the feature useful?
2. What resources will it take to create the feature?
2a. How much labor will it take to create the feature?
2b. How much labor will it to maintain the feature?
2c. How much processing time and storage will it take to implement and maintain the feature?

If someone had been up front with me on this, I would not be sending e-mails out.
I can take the truth.
Just give it to me.
A straight answer.
Thanks Dan.

Thank you, that was very helpful. Not being an IMDb admin/employee (or whatever the job is where you would setup a feature) so I cannot answer all of those questions. But I know that I as well as a few other users would be more than happy to supply quizzes, and people would probably play them. Everyone (as far as I know, lol) loves a good, fun pop culture test. And perhaps, like the polls to my understanding, you must have an account to play them. So more accounts. I don't claim to understand all of how IMDb works, but I can assume that getting more accounts are nice. :) I believe that this feature would pay off, but of course it's up to you guys. :) Thank you for your interest in my topic and reading my posts.

The more that you can demonstrate that there is interest in a trivia feature, the more likely that IMDb will consider implementing that feature.
1. You have a stronger case as more poll authors who respond to this thread and offer to create quizzes.
2. You may wish to create Blogger Account (https://www.blogger.com/) to create prototype quizzes as examples.
3. There is probably web-based software that you can use to host quizzes. One possibility is Google Forms:
https://gsuite.google.com/learning-center/products/forms/quizzes-get-started/#!/
4. It took close to a year of respectful lobbying and demonstrating that the poll authors were able and willing to create and supervise polls for IMDb to implement the current poll system.
5. Poll authors had some distinct advantages going forward. Two poll authors (Peter and I) were established Get Satisfaction Champions. We had an IMDb Message Board dedicated to suggesting and commenting on polls. We were able to demonstrate that poll authors were will and able to suggest viable polls. We were willing to take on the majority effort of administering the polls.
6. You need to ask yourself how much time and effort you are willing and able to provide to suggesting, creating and administering quizzes. If you cannot devote at least 10 hours per week, than your chances of having an IMDb quiz feature is significantly diminished.

That is if Dan approves.
Oh and I can restrain my self if acting in that capacity, Dan.

So, Someone - not me - starts a Quiz ...
"Host: Say, kids, what time is it?"
There is a wait time of what 12 hours or 10... 15... 50 replies ? ?
then publish the answer

Fun thing about GS if a message gets a Reply or Like
the message can not be edited
so a wrong answer can not be changed to the correct one (*Cheating*)
Look for the word "(Edited)"
Who keeps score ? ?
Who has the Most correct answers ? ?
Dan Dassow, Champion on his own site ? ?

First I will respond to your previous comment. So far, I know Ed, SeventhAr7, and I have expressed actual interest in authoring quizzes. Not sure if I can promise 10 hours a week, but I probably will be suggesting trivia very often. Between me and any others there should be plenty of quizzes to go around.
I'm not really prepared to setup and blog or anything, but I can show you some quiz ideas on this thread; that I will get to later on this post.
The quiz software is very interesting... the way I understand it it is only accessible to IMDb employees? If that could be changed, that would solve everything. :)
Before I end, I would like to say that if this is not do-able, I understand. As I said in a post way above, I know the staff can only do what they believe is necessary. Thank you!
Quiz Ideas (rough drafts, not yet polished): I am assuming the questions will be multiple choice.
Can You Guess the Sitcom by the First 2 Words in the Theme Song?
Which Actor is Taller? (Each question consists of two actors; guess which one is taller)
Can You Match the Quote to the Correct Mystery Science Theater 3000 Episode? (I'm a personal MST fan; this quiz can really be done with any show)
Which of These Films Did Not Win an Oscar?
Can You Name All of These (place movie/show here) Characters?
Hope these make sense! That's just a few ideas - I think of them all the time!

1. The castaways were always meeting other people on the island; sometimes doubles. Did Bob Denver ever play as both Gilligan and someone else?
2. How about Tina Louise (Ginger)?
3. Did Chuck Connors ever play two people on his show The Rifleman?
4. Did Craig T. Nelson ever play Hayden Fox and someone else on Coach?
5. Did Barbara Eden ever play two women on I Dream of Jeannie (excluding times she transformed herself to look like someone else)?
6. Did Melissa Gilbert ever play two people on Little House on the Prairie?
7. We all know Patty Duke played two little girls on her show, but did she ever play triple role?
