How do I update an existing TV series title to make it show not only the year it started in, but also when it ended? For example: CSI: Miami (2002–2012) instead of CSI: Miami (2002–).

You'd usually add the date of the last episode and the system would eventually close it. However, we've had a number of cases here where that hasn't. Editing the series and changing the production status might help or perhaps flagging it up here gets staff to give the system a kick...

I don't think this has to do with production status, but you can ask IMDb to add the end year through the help desk (or here, I assume).

@ Emperor: there are many cases where the system doesn't do that automatically. Even for shows that ended like 10 years ago.

@ pbn: how do you contact the help desk for such issues? Asking the help desk was my intention but IMDb sends me here when I go to the help pages.

Already thank both of you guys!

I can't believe it's still not possible as a contributor to add/correct the year ranges. I know about hundreds of since long finished TV series (often mini-series that aren't ever more than 1 season) that are listed as on-going. It's such a waste of time to have to contact the helpdesk for each such case, both for me as a (top) contributor and for them.

Update: Actually, it seems that mini-series are now automatically "closed", which is a great improvement. Problem is, if it was broadcast before and after new year, only the first year is included in the year range.

I've thought about this also. I mean when submitting a new title that ran only one year/season it gives you the option to add "on-going", meaning that the series hasn't ended. But when I leave that option "blank" it still gives (e.g.) "2001-" and not "2001" as it should be IMO.
