The producers and I have been trying to add my name on the IMDb page of a short film called "Da Capo" (2016). I was a production assistant on the film. However, years ago, I use to intern for a producer who was quite the scam artist. (I will not name names here.) Because he was unable to update pages on IMDb pages, he would ask me to do it for him. He wanted me to add names of people on our films that ended up not getting made. He would also ask me to add credits to his own IMDb page. I was asked to do all these half-true and very false credit updates just to "boost" pages affiliated with his "company." To give you an idea of how shady this producer was, he said he worked on major films for DC, Tim Burton, and some Oscar-nominated ones. Eventually, IMDb stopped taking my credit updates. I assumed I got "blacklisted" for lying and exaggerating production credits, even though I did so as a naive but dutiful intern.
Fast forward 3 years later. Now I'm upset that I am unable to get actual IMDb credit on a film I was hired to PA and was proud to be a part of. All because I lied to IMDb for the sake of being professional towards a shady producer. Please help me, IMDb. Contribution #161117-223436-078000
