Adding links to non-IMDB pages on lists?

On my Brushes With Greatness list, I added to the description a link to the BWG page on my own site, but it just came up as text.  What do I do so that it comes up as a link?

Jason: I think it will work if you surround the URL with [url] ... [/url].

Example:

[url]http://www.google.com[/url] 

would give you a live link to Google.

The official Help doesn't mention [url] anymore. It advises [link] instead. I only raise this in case the support for [url] evaporates.
