Alex, This is my first time seeing an actual IMDb associate a participating member on a board. I need help BAD in getting out of the gate here. (I know this is off topic, and im sorry) -- -- I am trying to add my very first credit to the Season 7 - episode 1 SONS OF ANARCHY. I tried once waited the 14 day period, Nothing. No emails, just dead air. I Re-submitted it . . . . . same thing . . . . Nothing. how does one get this going??? I also have a Brooklyn Nine Nine credit I am supposed to add but wanted to do this one at a time . . . . I am far from naive at this sort of thing, but your site and submission style is extremely complicated. I would love to sell you on the fact of how resourceful I am......but I am looking pretty lame here!
I get the green highlights of errors, but I am listing everything accurately!! My first time around submission, it was green too, now its yellow ( turned on its own?)
I am Uncredited per say, but was a paid actor with all the proof and photos that go along with the gig.
A id that i was on set with that same day is on there and has been for several weeks now ( Babcock Ryan - Aryan Brother) - we both shared the same role . . . actually mine was far more prevalent. How did HE get listed? Because its not his first credit? Maybe he has a paid account? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me here! I cant afford to pay an assistant at this point in time to do this stuff for me! My direct email is misisco@yahoo.com.
ANY help or guidance would be so much appreciated! Thanks!

I am sure that sometimes data gets swept right on through (massive amounts of data, few people verifying it, and all), and also, data coming from well-trusted data contributors (see Contributors' Charter) and also coming from production can get listed quickly and without much scrutiny. But if more (or any) verification is needed, the data simply does not appear. So, after waiting for the processing time to pass for that specific type of credit (see Data Processing Times) and nothing appears, it's best to ask here for a check on status (by supplying the Submission ID numbers from, in your Site Settings page View your contributions) from staff here and uploading any more evidence. You can also make it happen faster by adding a link to your proof (upload an image of screen capture of credits, or for "uncredited" work, a screen capture of yourself appearing, recognizable, on screen) into the explanation field while making the initial submission.
So yeah...he could get a pass on through, but if not included in credits supplied initially by production, he'd need verification...and probably would also need some evidence ultimately. Also, stuff that gets through without evidence faces a good chance of getting changed later by the many, many data contributors who watch shows/movies and not what's in the credits compared to what's listed on IMDb. There are very, very many who catch quite a bit of these issues.
Hope that helps!

You may not realize just how much data the site processes. A year or so ago I was informed that the IMDb Update system processes in the region of 400,000 lines (items) per week, and that this means the Data Managers have to average about 30 seconds per item to stay out of backlog. Obviously this is not up to date, but I really doubt that the amount of data has decreased.
Some items will obviously take longer to check than others, so trust plays a big part in the decision. If a contributor has a good reputation IMDb is more likely to accept updates with less checking, but once that reputation is lost, they are at least as likely to reject any update that does not have sufficient evidence sent.
As I mentioned above, and bluesmanSF also noted, this may allow someone to 'game' the system for a while, but due to the number of Contributors who actually audit the on-screen credits, this is not likely to work for long. Also, once the 'enhancements' are corrected, the original submitter is likely to lose trust and have much more trouble getting future submissions accepted.
