Why adding/changing release date does not change the year next to the title?

Hello people :)

I am trying to change the year next to a movie title from (2010) to (2013).

I have added a release date of 2013 which appears below the title... 89 min - Comedy | Drama - 2013 (New Zealand)

But the year in the title has not changed and I can't see how else to change it?

A far as I can see the edit release date function is the only way to change the year but it's not working as expected!

Any help would be hugely appreciated!!

Many thanks!

Just wanted to provide some additional information about this. As documented on the site, the year in the title is derived from the year of a film's earliest public screening -- so a film that first screened on, say, December 27th 2010 at a festival will be listed as 'Film Title (2010)' even if it didn't actually get a wide theatrical release until the following summer.

When release dates are added/removed/changed, the year next to the title is changed as well. However, this is not instantaneous or automatic for all titles, to prevent accidental erroneous changes -- in some cases, the year in the title will change fairly quickly, while in others the correction will need to be manually processed, particularly for cases where the change conflicts or has consequences on other features (i.e. the ability to vote on the title, its production status).

The exact factors dictating if or when the change is performed can vary and include how substantial the change would be (e.g. would the year be changed by one or three or ten years?), the direction of the change (is the title year going to be moved back of forward?), what type of event is the new release date associated with (is it a wide theatrical release date or the date of a film market screening?) the popularity and type of the title (a change to the year for a film currently in wide theatrical release has a potentially bigger impactl than a change to a film that opened 25 years ago) etc.

So, to recap: yes, changing release dates will change the year next to the title, but it may not happen quickly or automatically.

If you notice a discrepancy and know that it's been there for a while (i.e. you haven't just recently submitted a new release date), it's always good to let us know so we can take a look.
