The writer/Producer of a movie in development has been trying to add my name as a Co-Producer on the project but it keeps being blocked as I am also a “name” actor and imdb is suspicious that it is a fraudulent credit. Project: The Elevator Game ( Praxis Prods.) Credit: Co-Producer - Charles Shaughnessy.

Please ask the writer/director to provide the 18-digit reference number of the submission so an IMDb representative can review the update and respond.

Hi Charles,

As GMJ has stated, we will need the submission reference in order to look into this further for you.

Often if a submission is rejected, it means that our editors were unable to verify it and need further information/additional evidence.

As the title is unreleased, verification should include proof of employment - this can come in the form of a letter of intent, signed contracts mentioning their name or any mentions within the media of the role on the production from reputable third-party sources.

Please upload these screengrabs or data somewhere on the Web where we can access it (we recommend a free image hosting service like, these will need to be publicly available and cannot require an account to login. You can then send us the links/URLs pointing to it via the following process:
    1) Find your original submission in your submission history (

    2) Verify that all the data is still valid. If you need to update/amend the information, you can do so and resubmit the entry.

    3) Make a note of the update reference number (it's the number composed of three groups of 6 digits separated by dashes, e.g. 121027-090001-134000

    4) Go to this page: and select the options for IMDb Fan/Contributor Questions > Filmography Credits > Provide credit evidence

    5) Fill in the form with all the information (the update reference number and all the URLs pointing to the additional verification for that submission). At least one link is mandatory. If you have more than three, use the 'comment' field to add them.

    6) Enter any additional information, comment or feedback in the 'comment' field. The more data/evidence you supply, the better.

     Submit the form.
