advice on changing certificates

I would appreciate some advice or mentoring on updating certificates.  In October, I submitted a request (https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/update?load=181012-011101-813000) to delete the PG-13 rating for Love Steaks (Germany, 2013), and it hasn't gone through.  On Filmratings.com, the website of the MPAA's Classification and Rating Administration, this movie is not to be found.  I noted at the time that Netflix self-rated it TV-MA (I don't know if it's still in Netflix's rotation) and that given the content, it's unlikely to receive a PG-13 if a rating should ever be sought.  I see that it's now on Amazon Video, listed at PG-13.

A couple of questions:  Is there a better or more official source for MPAA's actual ratings than Filmratings.com?  Does Amazon Video derive it's rating from IMDB, or vice-versa, or neither?  What is the source of the IMDB PG-13?  And if it is from Amazon's self-rating, should that be noted on the IMDB listing?

The content of the movie doesn't bother me, and I wouldn't care what it were rated, in general.  But I would like to know where the IMDB rating originates, and how changes are supposed to work: is what I sent in insufficient, or is it considered "incorrect", or is it something else?

Thanks for any feedback.

Nick,

The MPAA runs FilmRatings.com so the site can be considered an official source for MPAA ratings.

Considering the web site's search engine does not have the title, I would venture to guess the PG-13 rating was self-applied by the filmmakers, which, if I'm not mistaken, is not allowed and should be removed from the title's IMDb page.

I cannot speak for how or why the title's Amazon.com's page has the PG-13 rating.

Hopefully, you'll be able to receive some answers from an IMDb official very soon.

Hi Nick,

GMJ's provided some great info above, in addition I've taken a look and can confirm the rating has been removed from the title and we've taken steps to ensure this doesn't occur in the future.

Thank you!
