Currently there is a massive SPAM attack on IMDb using user created lists. The "Newest Lists" (http://www.imdb.com/lists), which is the latest 250 list created are ALL SPAM promoting gambling web sites.

The attack continues. I reported multiple accounts to the IMDb help desk.

Hi Dan Dassow

This particular spamming problem has occurred unhindered for at least 6 days. Could you maybe provide information, if and when, IMDb will counteract? I have likewise reported multiple accounts to the IMDb help desk. Will this be sufficient though? Owing to the fact that spammers are continuously opening new accounts.

Your response will be much appreciated.

Hi Faust,

I am somewhat reluctant to provide details in a public forum. It appears that the spammers are reading these posts, since they figured out ways of getting around some recommendations I've made in the past.

I've reported to the IMDb help desk over 20 accounts posting spam via lists last night. If you contact me via PM on IMDb, I will forward to you what I reported. My user ID is available in my profile.

It appears that the IMDb technical staff is abundantly aware of this problem. I've seen accounts cleared of spam lists within the last few days. However, they seem to be unable to keep up with the continuous creation of new accounts.

Hi again Dan Dassow

Thanks for your prompt reply, and the information provided. I can understand your reluctance to provide details though. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved in the near future?
