All of my links to other lists, on every single list that I have, have suddenly stopped working.

What is going on with this site, it has been wrecked by its staff over the last few months, is this a union despite or something?  There's no way that incompetence on such a vast scale can be accidental.

This seems to have changed recently.

On http://www.imdb.com/list/ls025185363/
This is in my list description:

And renders as:

Notice the link is missing after "musicals to watch" and the markup [link] displays on the last line.
The entire bottom paragraph is an active link to the "musicals to watch" list, and no link to the blogspot is active. (The first 2 links are active to the proper destination,)

And removing the color markup code changes nothing about the rendering.

The problem here is the use of the old mark-up format which is in the process of being retired, sorry.

We have a ticket open to update the documentation everywhere.

The supported format is [link=url]Text[/link]

So, for example, on http://www.imdb.com/list/ls031614677/ please use:

[link=http://www.imdb.com/list/ls059488800/]Best Movies of 2014[/link]

or:

Best Movies of 2014: [link=http://www.imdb.com/list/ls059488800/]http://www.imdb.com/list/ls059488800/[/link]

You know what Colin?  Credit where credit's due, that's actually a really good change, makes list links so much smaller, tidier, classier.  Your 1st example works, I've since implemented it on all of my lists, but just so you know, your 2nd example comes up with an error code.

Do you mind updating this page then, the FAQ page for lists, so that others know and don't use the old format like me:

@Col

I'm going to try to use GS's
"pre"
formatting to show us what I think you intended for the second example. "pre" is to the right of the giant double quote. (I had to insert a line break to show everything.)

If I'm predicting correctly what that should say, it means we need to include the url twice when we want to display the url, where we didn't before. Namely:
Best Movies of 2014:
[link=http://www.imdb.com/list/ls059488800/] http://www.imdb.com/list/ls059488800/[/link]
Also, are you going to continue supporting the name and title links by id only, or will we need to replace those with full urls?

Yes, definitely. If anything we are more likely to add further types of id to the supported set.

I just edited another list which had almost identical description to my example above, changing only the 3rd and 4th links. They look/act properly now.

I'm baffled by the fact that the first 2 links work, despite being in the "old" markup, just [link=url] without the ending /link or the middle text to display.

Col Needham-  You've been receptive to many changes, I wonder if you can help sort out the biggest remaining one; the editing feature. It really needs to be reverted to back to how it was because the new version is still a nightmare; you type in the number you want to move it to, click save list order, then done, and nothing happens.  And if something does happen, only a few of the items you're moving are actually moved.  It's truly a disaster if you want switch around a number of different ones, because EVERYTHING gets jumbled up.  It's untenable.

The way it used to be, you'd click on item no.10 for instance, and drag it to wherever you wanted it to go, and when you let go of the mouse at that destination, say, no.5, the number would change on its own.  It made editing take seconds, rather than minutes currently.
