When you recently redesigned the site homepage, you added a busy advertising background with the actual page centered within (and on top of) the advertisement. This makes the page harder to use.

I have a mental condition that makes animation on a page I am trying to read blocks my reading the page. Your recent addition of an animation that starts automatically to the advertisement on the site homepage means I have to manually block the animation with a browser extension.

I need a way to set a cookie that disables automatic starting of any automation. For now, I have been forced to enable my ad blocker (I do not like to run it on sites like yours).

Hi Doctor Bits,

I am sorry to hear that you have difficulty using our sites while animation is playing. I would recommend enabling cookies from IMDb, as this will prevent the same advertisement from playing twice. Otherwise, you could consider using IMDbPro, our paid subscription service which includes an ad-free browsing experience, among other features for industry professionals.

You can learn more and sign up for a free trial here, if you are interested.

Cheers,

Steve
