Annual TV shows like award shows can I add them as a TV series and then add each year as an episode?

Is there an official rule here whether to ad as separate TV specials or as a TV series?
Or can I choose myself how to add?

Kristin: For annual award shows and similar annual shows, I believe the most common and preferred practice is to list each year's edition as a separate TV special. See http://www.imdb.com/find?ref_=nv_sr_fn&q=annual+grammy+awards&s=tt, for example, where each year's Grammy Awards is indicated as a separate TV special.

Thanks for your reply :)Hmmm, I am wondering if that is because if you first have started listing them as separate shows you need to continue do so.
Wondering if there are any pros or cons or official recommendation.
