I am not an IMDb staff member, but another user of IMDb.
I also found the post offensive. I've reported the post.
I also find the term "pig" offensive and unnecessary. Please use decorum on IMDb's Get Satisfaction site.

You asked:
how can your web site allow this kind of racist comment be posted without deleting the user right away?
IMDb literally has millions of message boards, one for every person or title in its database along with more general boards. IMDb has an automated reporting system, since it is impractical for the IMDb staff to monitor the boards.
The general advice from the IMDb staff is to report the post and place the other user on ignore. If the offending user has a demonstrated pattern of posts that clearly violate IMDb's
terms and conditions, you should use the "other" option when reporting the post. The "other" option allows for a detailed explanation. In the detailed explanation include links to the multiple offending posts and a description of the problem.
In this specific instance, you may wish to use the other option to provide the details of why this post is offensive. You can also recommend that the offensive word be filtered out of posts. The message board filters out widely recognized offensive words.
I strongly urge you to flag posts judiciously and infrequently. The automated system will suspend your ability to report posts if you use it too much. There are IMDb users who delight in reporting posts that fully comply with IMDb's terms and conditions. Unfortunately, the automated system cannot distinguish between abuse and overuse of the reporting system.
IMDb is primarily a database of film and other media titles and people. The message boards are for the convenience of the users. Fortunately, most users of the boards do not overtly abuse the system. However, to completely eliminate the problem you reported, IMDb would have to shut down the message board system.
