App store shows there is an IMDB FREE SITE - is this a mistake because I came to your site and you are charging to watch movies . If so, are you competitive with Netflix monthly charge ?

No, IMDb is not charging to watch movies; they don't (with minor exceptions) stream movies. IMDb may provide to other sites who may or may not charge you to see the item.

IMDb is a database of information about movies (plus TV Shows and Video Games) and the people who make them. It only serves a few videos, primarily short, independent films.

The basic IMDb site is free, although there is a paid interface that shows the data in a different format and gives access to certain features oriented to the business. Note that the additional items in the paid service do not include access to more videos.

As a subsidiary of Amazon, IMDb does try to provide links to Amazon if they have the item available for streaming or sale, but you would need to pay for that item.
