I have tried to delete false release dates for two movies but my contributions have been rejected with the explanation "Unfortunately we were unable to accept your submission as we were unable to verify the information provided." The problem is that I am not sure how you can verify that a release date is actually fake without just saying "there is no evidence". My update #s are 190413-010006-580000 and 190413-013637-155000. The movies in question are The BFG (TV movie) and Tadpole, which are listed as being released in 1987 and 2000 respectively when I can find absolutely no evidence they were released before 1989 and 2002 respectively.

For BFG, here is an issue of TV Times which advertises the film as being released on Christmas 1989: https://issuu.com/radiosoundsfamiliar...

Here is a stock photo which clearly lists the release date as 25 December 1989:

For Tadpole, here are is the earliest reference I can find to the film in November 2001, a year after its alleged release date on IMDB, in which it says the film will premiere at Sundance:

There are tons of references to the film being first released at Sundance in 2002:

http://www.insidefilm.com/sundance02....
https://ew.com/article/2002/02/08/ew-...

I can find absolutely no reference to the film premiering in New York in 2000, so that is definitely wrong.

Hi undergroundWord,

Thanks for your message. The BFG was released in Cannon cinemas in 1987 - seeĀ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096866/trivia?item=tr4341177

I have removed the 2000 release date from Tadpole though as I can also find no confirmation of this release date.

Regards,
Will
