Attempting to correct a release date; submissions declined three times.

I'm attempting to correct the air date for the debut episode of "Late Night With David Letterman," which somebody, for some reason, changed to November 25, 1989.
I've submitted the correct date three times, and all three times they were declined, with the usual "Unable to verify" as the reason.
Of course it can be verified.  It's a well-documented fact that the show debuted on February 1, 1982.  Easily verifiable.  Besides, check the air dates for the subsequent episodes.  Episode 2 aired February 2, 1982.  Episode 3 on February 3.  And so on.  Doesn't make any sense that the first episode would air nearly eight years after the second, does it?

Anyway, the submission numbers are:
200719-232346-582000
200720-140955-768000
and
200721-135141-941000

Thank you.  And I apologize for the frustrated rant.

Hi Steve, thanks for reaching out. Cannot be verified means you didn't include sufficient evidence in your submission. When you see this, you should always resubmit with evidence and an explanation of your change. In this case I have gone ahead and resubmitted that change on your behalf.

Re-reading that suddenly got me curious as to how the incorrect date was submitted and approved in the first place.  How can someone include evidence of something that is incorrect to begin with?
