Automatic Production Status Change?

Does IMDb automatically change status of a project from postproduction to complete? Our film is finished with principal photography, but needs a few more edits, yet somehow the status has been changed to complete. If someone outside of IMDb made this change, is there a way to track it?

Hi Adam -

The production status will only change automatically on IMDb when a title has a Release Date, when the release date arrives the title will then automatically switch from the production status to a "Released" status.  There would not be an automatic change to "Completed".

Concerning the recent change,  information in IMDb comes from various sources. Most of it is either researched by our staff or submitted by our users. Even if we could track down who sent a specific piece of data, it is our policy not to disclose contact details or any other information about our users and contributors, so you cannot track who made the change.
