Hi,

Thanks for sharing your submission IDs.

Since only IMDb staff can view their content, and waiting for one to react to this topic, what are you trying to perform with these submissions: adding, edit or delete birth and/or death dates?

Most of them are added birth dates, a few are corrected ones and one is a death date.

I have submitted birth dates. Several of them. Give up now while you still have your sanity. LOL. Not one has ever been accepted. I have given proof on top of proof with proof of proof! Nope..... not one accepted. Have you ever gotten any through? Dates of Death I have gotten approved. They never tell you or have tracking info available on these types of submissions. Its hard to get reasons why on an individual basis either.

It sounds like you are not supplying the right kind of proof. Please re-read the submission guide at https://help.imdb.com/article/contrib...

Hi! Col Needham, Official Rep

as uno there have been many comments on GS and the Old Boards
Some people do not want their birthday listed on their Bio page
with some legal action in California (USA)

Is this a problem adding new info by frankfob2 ? ?

The key is public records. That costs $. Not all places (Cities, & Towns) have internet published PDF files with all yearly births in them. Census records can work I think.
Col, Is that true?

Then this should be removed from the criteria as it seems to never be accepted.

Hi all -

To clarify, we will consider both public records and social media links, however, we may require additional sources in some cases, so it's always best to submit as much evidence as you have for our editors to review.

Hi frankfob2 -

As Col mentioned above, we generally will not accept birth/death date submissions when we cannot verify the source.  Please review our guide for further details on what sources we consider.  If you are unsure whether a source you have used is valid you are welcome to ask us here and our staff can take a look to confirm, otherwise, if you feel the data was incorrectly rejected you are welcome to submit again with all verifiable evidence and our staff will take another look.

Nah,I'll just stop submitting them altogether. Seems as if the only way to "verify" a birth date is to have the person walk into your office and plop down a copy of his or her own birth certificate; anything else seems, for some reason, to be unacceptable, so I just won't do either birth dates or death dates anymore. It's not worth taking the time and effort to research and submit them only to see them dismissed as "unverifiable"--one of the birth dates I submitted that IMDb considers  "unverifiable" came from a biography of the man written by his son, but, hey, what does he know, right?--so I just won't do them at all anymore.
