Can 'Emmerdale Farm' be renamed?

The TV soap Emmerdale launched in 1972 as Emmerdale Farm, but it has been known as just Emmerdale since 1989.

Can it's name on IMDB also be renamed to Emmerdale as it must surely be confusing for non-British people who think it's still called Emmerdale Farm?

It'd be better to have Emmerdale Farm TV Series (1972- ) as an "alternative title", "original script title" or whatever else is a better fit.

And have Emmerdale TV Series (1972- ) as the main title for the page https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068069/ as it is the most common name for the show, and the longest running name as it's been almost 30 years since it's renaming.

This is already the case, please see https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068069/... and note the worldwide English new title entry. If you are not seeing the shorter title, please let us know where you are located, how you are accessing IMDb and what localisation preferences you have selected, thanks.

I'm located in Bradford, England (the filming location for Emmerdale from 1976-1996).

I'm currently accessing IMDB on my desktop Chrome browser, where it displays Emmerdale Farm on Google, and Emmerdale Farm on IMDB itself.

However I've just checked on the desktop Firefox browser and that also displays the incorrect Emmerdale Farm name on Google, but the correct Emmerdale name on IMDB itself

My "general site preferences" had "Original" as the preference for the "Title display country/region" as I'd expect that to also include the updated title for the "Original Country of Origin" but apparently it doesn't.

I've just changed it from "Original" to "United Kingdom" instead, and it now displays the correct "Emmerdale" title.

Now I have that fixed, here's a slightly similar problem...

Both the TV show Spooks and the film Spooks: The Greater Good are correct on the pages themselves.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0160904/?ref_=nv_sr_1
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3321300/?ref_=nv_sr_1

However they both display the American titles MI-5 in the search bar. Why is that?

I'm guessing I changed my preferences when I was trying to fix this 'Spooks' problem a few weeks ago, as it annoys me when Google, and occasionally IMDB display a title which isn't the title from it's country of origin.

Unfortunately the MI-5 situation is a known limitation in the suggestion search which we will address over the longer term.
