Yes, to a degree. Anyone can contribute facts subject to the moderation of IMDb editors.

With IMDbPro, you have control over some things that others cannot influence.

Okay then. That's the reason IMDB has accuracy, and is a useful tool for professionals. If some actors had their way, they'd remove roles, pad their pages with "Fake" credits, etc. By having a system of hundreds of thousands of contributors checking, cross checking and an IMDb staff that edits/oversees submissions, no one can "get away" with making the database the joke that say Wikipedia is. Thank you.
