Hi, Donna Kasmer.

As I see, the main idea of ACT_1 is to write reviews off-line in any text-editor which you prefer, and then copy-paste them into the IMDb form for further submission. I can say, such variant is also more secure for your work being not lost if any trouble with internet connection or else interrupting the long process of writing.

Also is there a word count limit? I can get very long winded at times.

anything past this point will be discarded

There is a minimum word count and a maximum character limit.
10,000 characters. That includes spaces and line breaks.
