Can I order a persons filmography from IMDB?

Can I order a persons filmography from IMDB? I don't want a simple web print out. I need something more certified so there is no question of it's authenticity. Is this possible?

Well:

* A printout can have the URL and date when it was printed off, which should vouch for its authenticity.

* There is a reason why Wikipedia won't accept IMDB as a reliable source - the data is user submitted and, despite the vetting of the data, problems can come in from all directions. So it'd be pointless coming up with a means of producing a copy of the filmography, if the filmography isn't reliable.

If you let us know why you wanted it, we might be able to point you in the direction of something that can do what you want.

I am a college student and we are currently doing a project called "Making History". My professor requires a certified Biography of an artist either by book or a company certified document. He won't accept a website print out. He did say that he would except the bio or filmography if it is printed out by a company and has their letterhead or something similar on it. I showed him the IMDB site and he said that I can use them as a resource if I get an official printout. Would IMDB or a similar company do this? I would even be willing to pay for it.

Its tricky - staff are really busy and I'd not put decent odds on them being able to sort it out. Then again they might, as I assume it'd only need to be printed out on paper with the IMDB letterhead and posted to you. So I'd investigate other options and keep your fingers crossed.

Talk with the research librarian at your college. This librarian should be able to provide guidance on what resources are available for an artist's biography and/or filmography.

Wikipedia does not consider the IMDb a reliable source for biographies and credits. The IMDb does not typically provide the source of the information in its database.

Getting a certified biography and/or filmography from Wikipedia is another possibility. However, I do not know who you would contact. It's also problematical whether Wikipedia would have the budget to comply with your request.

If the artist is alive, you may wish to contact them or their agent directly. Some artists may be happy to provide this information.

If you really believe that IMDb is your preferred source, you may wish to contact the IMDb at engage@imdb.com and explain your specific requirements and when you need the information.
