Can you please remove Stanley Kubrick from the 72nd Annual Academy Awards' IMDb page and just have him on the 71st Annual Academy Awards's IMDb page please? Cause Kubrick died two weeks before the 71st Annual Academy Awards.
If you look at the credit you will see that it is listed with both "Memorial Tribute" and "Archive footage" attributes; this is the correct listing for these type of credits, so unless he did not appear within a memorial tribute, the credit should remain listed.
It seems, though, as if it's listed for the wrong year. He died two weeks before the 71st, 1999 show. It was too recent to have been included in the normal "In Memoriam" segment, but looks like they did a separate tribute just for him. He was not in the 72nd, 2000 show since his death was not during that year (it was the year before).

Special events
A special tribute was given to Oscar winner Frank Sinatra, who died in the previous year.
Also another special tribute, presented by Steven Spielberg, was made to Stanley Kubrick, who had died only two weeks prior to the ceremony.
A special tribute was given to the western genre, in order to pay tribute to singing cowboys Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, who both died in the previous year.
A brief impromptu special tribute was given to famous film critic Gene Siskel who had died earlier that year.
So, it looks like the credits got added to the wrong year.
Thanks for all the additional info BluesmanSF, I'll have our data editors take a look at this credit and see if it should be moved to a different year for the award show.
