Ever since the last update (Ipad IOS9.2) I can't sign in, I've tried every solution known to human, dragon and troll. I'm rather fond of this app and I'd gladly appreciate if anybody could provide a solution.

Isabella,
Are you seeing an error message?
Are you having trouble signing in to the IMDb app, or the website?
Any additional details appreciated.
Sorry for the trouble...

Hi Yann, thanks for your reply.
I'm having trouble only with the app on my Ipad, already reset the password through the link provided in the error message, when I try to sign back in with the new password the app just keeps telling me there's an error in my E-Mail/Password combination.

I've filed a ticket with the iOS team... I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

There's a known issue where some accounts had passwords with invalid characters in them and are unfortunately no longer able to sign in without doing a password reset. Because passwords are handled securely, we're not able to identify which accounts are affected and notify those users.

Can you try using the "Forgot Password" link and see if you can access your account that way?

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply.
I actually figured that could be a possibility and did the password reset four times...this is the fifth and it has worked, I used the same combination of letters and numbers from the last time though. I'm a bit puzzled.

Error message says something about enabling cookies and SSL. But cookies already enabled.

6s Plus. Current iOS. I was finally able to log in using my Amazon.com login instead of IMDb. Then took me through some verification process. And by the way thank you for IMDb – it's a great service!

This cookie error message is a known issue. You should be able to use the back button and try opening the sign-in page again and it should work the second time.

Hey Mark, I have the same problem and going back and forth doesn't help. Interestingly I get the cookie error message first time around and second time around I then get to the login screen again, with this prefilled behind my email address: "/183-6681224-1307043?ie=UTF8" - obviously leaving it then leads to an error message about wrong email/password combination. Removing it does the same or leads to getting the cookie error again.
What can I do? It's pretty frustrating :/

That is really baffling. What is the device model and iOS version you are using? Do you have any restrictive Safari settings enabled such as "Don't Track Me" or "Don't accept cookies"? Are you using any ad blocking software?

Don't Track Me is disabled and Cookies are always allowed (even though the error message states they aren't.
Only thig I can see is that I block pop ups. Would that cause it?

Im also unable to log in using Facebook. It says there's a Facebook connection problem. I'm logged into Facebook and I've tried re logging several times, without results. I've also reinstalled both apps...

We have a fix for this in today's v6.3 app update. Can you try logging in with Facebook again?

Hi,
I've always signed in with my Amazon account but after the update it is not letting me do that, after I enter the password it gives me this error: "Network Error      Sign In Error      Received HTTP status 403" from my iPhone 6

Any update on the other issues Mark? Do you know when/if we can sign in again with an IMDB account?
Alternatively, is there a way to migrate my account over to an approach/service that allows me to login with the app? Really frustrating that I can't use the app on my phone :/

Interesting. The fact that you are now seeing this 403 error means there's likely something wrong on our side that we hadn't considered yet. It might be difficult for us to track down.

In the meantime, I would suggest switching to logging into the same account using the IMDb option. When logging in with Facebook or Amazon, we actually just create an IMDb account using your Facebook or Amazon email address and a random password. You can use the forgot password option to set the account password to something you know.

1. In the app, using the "Sign in with IMDb" option
2. On the next page, tap the "Forgot password?" link at the bottom
3. Enter the email address you use for Facebook or Amazon
4. In the email you receive, click the link to complete the process

I hope this will let you get into your account while we look into the 403 issue.

Thanks Mark, that helped! Resetting the pssword for some reason has done the trick. I just tried now as I didn't see your response until I activevely checked again and I dodged the problem and using IMDb. Not a great option though. So thanks!

Many are still experiencing this issue... but fortunately we have just isolated the root cause and should have a more permanent fix out in the next release...
