Can't edit IMDb-list

It since I haven't been able to edit the order of my toplists since the last update. I can add people/films etc. to my lists, but I can't put them anymore but the last place. If an added actor ends up last, at place 40 or something when I add him, I only get an error after I try to change his placement and save the changes. "An error occurred. Please try again."

Hi Linus,

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue, so it could be caused by the browser or browser settings you are using. Please confirm that your 'Sort by:' is set to List order.

I would recommend opening a private window or disabling any browser plugins, such as adblock, and trying to update your list order again. If you are still having trouble, please write us back with the following:

- the device and OS you are using
- the browser and update version you are using
- a description of the steps you are taking (i.e. first I clicked 'Edit', then I added x title to the list, then I tried to change the order number to y, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have a problem with my list named Weirds. All titles are classified by list order. I can't edit titles anymore. I can add a new title or delete it but beside this the title is stuck. Other lists respond badly, ramdomly so to speak, to editing. I don't understand.

Regards, Gil

This might be what was also reported on the Update to List Pages thread, with specifics here:
https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/update-to-list-pages?topic-reply-list[settings][filter_by]=a...

Tried it again now before submitting this, and couldn't get a title to move from position 2 to 5 at all, but could move from 5 to 1.

Thanks for your replies, all! I have forwarded this information to our technical team for further investigation. In the meantime, please provide the following to assist with our investigation:

- the device and OS you are using
- the browser and update version you are using
- (all except for bderoes) a description of the steps you are taking (i.e. first I clicked 'Edit', then I added x title to the list, then I tried to change the order number to y, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

Unable to reorder my list? I have tried so many times; the page reloads when clicking on click "Save List Order". However, the list is not getting reordered. Also, unable to drag and drop like before. Please help?! Trying on Windows platform

The problem seems to be not that we can't reorder things, but that we can't do it accurately.

On the first page, I can rearrange items on the list from position 1 or position 2 or whatever.

I can rearrange any item at any point on the list to the number one position and move it in small increments downward.

I can not, however, move an item from any position on the list to, for instance, position 112.

This wouldn't be so much a problem if we had drag and drop in addition to the current numbers-only system, but since this is what we're stuck with, it sucks that it's not working and hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Hi Steve,

I’m using a PC, windows 7 and Google chrome. I’ve no issues with adblock, ever.

1) I click on Edit 2) I go to the third page of my list 3) I change the number of one title to edit order 4) I click on Save List Order 5) nothing happens 6) I can move a title at the beginning of the list... once.

Same problem occur on other lists with some chaotic results.

This morning everything seems... ok ? Yes, it’s ok :)

Thanks for your efforts, regards,

Gil

I can confirm that Save List Order has returned to its prior functionality.

It still does bad things that I've reported elsewhere, but at least titles move to the general vicinity as requested.

For instance, I just tested trying to reverse a 5-item list, and instead of getting Titles ABCDE, I got ACBDE. For that example from last week, and links to prior posts, see:

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Cannot sort larger imdb lists.

Since yesterday I haven't been able to move around the entries in my imdb lists.  I enter the new number, and hit done but the entry doesn't move at all.  I did try moving an entry this morning on a list of only 50 titles and it did move, but for the other lists I've worked on (most of which have over 500 titles) the entries aren't moving at all.

Hi all,

We have made some fixes that should remedy this issue, and I have confirmed with a few of my lists that the reordering function is now back to normal.

Could you please try to reorder your lists again and let me know if you are still seeing problems?

Thanks in advance!

Gil Luna reported "normal" back on March 1; has something been enhanced since then?

I just tested the case I described then, and it still does that wrong (ACBDE). But that is a deeper/older problem than what initiated this thread, and I provide a link back to older posts.
