Hi,

It might be a known issue but I do not quite recall it, and the issue/bug seems obvious enough to raise it (again?) here:

There is no consistency in the cast order handling of La chute de l'empire américain.
The reference view shows like this:

When the actual data is entered like this (31 cast entries in total):

Is it due to not having enough ordered entries in the last column?
But the "Rest of cast listed alphabetically:" label place looks really bizarre...

Thanks MAthePA, this definitely proves your memory is more trustworthy than mine :)

More seriously, the awkwardness of this issue and its context make it somewhat harder to remember.

It seems to be an issue until we try to examine this problem from the developers point of view. Pretend you are an IMDb developer, what your algorythm should result in when a list of actors is partially numbered for ordering?..

The actual STARmeter is better than an alphabet as well as age ordering. But anyway, it is not enough to solve this problem completely. That is why I've suggested a way for improvement, it was the same day just after the above-mentioned topic been discussed initially. No one participated in the topic I started, as well as no one proceeded with the initial topic. Perhaps, this is not a matter of memory, but the people who care do not really need to care much. I mean this is an episodic, not constant problem for them. They show no opposite to this.

Indeed, this current thread has four more followers after you've started it and I've told it may be discussed in initial thread. Are all of them expecting that here we have more chances? What reasons for this? )))

"Rest of cast listed alphabetically" only appears in the reference view.

The order is actually STARmeter order.

This longstanding issue (or bug or "rule" or whatever it is) needs to be fixed, it is silly and serves no purpose at all

The only thing that I can say that really is annoying is an old TV Program or Movie that has as its star an ageing actor who's starmeter has dropped so low as to remove them as the top billed Actor/Actress at the top of the cast list, when the show or story centers around them.

I guess, Title Reference View is still in the experimental phase.
