Change Sequence of items in one of my own lists

I used to be able to change the sequence of items in my lists by dragging them.  Dragging is no longer an option.  I tried changing the item number and that's not working either.

If by "not working" you mean it's hard to predict where items will land, you have a point. The best bet is to  move items one at a time,  When moving Up the list, an item will go into the position specified. When moving Down the list, specify one less than the position you want, because everything is shifting up to replace the item that's moving.

If by "not working" you mean things are not moving at all, I'm not experiencing that right now. You'll need to describe what you're doing that gives no result.

You may want to vote/comment on this Idea, which includes a request to return drag/drop:

By "not working" I mean the item does not move in its place in the current sequence.

When I enter a different number for the sequence of the item and then click "Done" and click "Save" to save the new sequence numbering, the sequence doesn't change from the current sequence.  The new number for the resequencing is not saved.

I certainly wish IMDb would restore the drag option.  That was the simplest.

Hmm. That worked on the list I just tried.
Bur it's not how I usually proceed.

Instead, click Save List Order. Does that work for you?

If not, what are the position numbers, both current and desired?
How long is the list?
Anything strange going on with the numbering of the items, like gaps or duplicates?
If this is a public list, can you share the url?

I just tried again to "Save List Order" and it worked this time by changing the item number.  Seems the application works inconsistently.
The list has 22 items, no known duplicates or gaps.

All is well now, until I add another film to the list.  Then I may encounter the inconsistency again.
