Clarification on plot outline submissions

Because my last post has comments disabled
I will try again as no rep has given me an answer
Not sure if they are too lazy but I have submitted plenty of outline corrections, new outlines/summaries and have also submitted deletion of exsisting outlines

My new outline submissions have been approved but still are not showing even after a few weeks
Some have been approved and are alreadly listed under the respective title and some have been approved and are not showing? All these submissions where submitted at the same time so I dont see why this is the case
I also submitted an edit to an exsisting outline and my user name has not been credited with the update

I have submitted deletions of outlines and there are no reasons given to why they are being declined when the exsisting outlines are blatantly incorrect or poorly written. I can't find the page to give a reason to why they should be deleted so a link would be greatly appreciated

A rep needs to sort this out please
I have attached all films I have submitted with their reference numbers for clarification
Further investigation is required for approvals that are not showing
I will need a comprehensive reason and info about my submissions and if it isn't to my liking I will continue to ask until they are shown
I have submitted deletions of exsisting outlines for these films below too:

Casino Royale edited exsisting outline and my username accreditation not showing

Licence To Kill, The Living Daylights, Spectre, Terminator Dark Fate, Xmen Dark Phoenix, Ransom, Terminator (1984) and Die Hard (1988)
Deletion of exsisting outlines and my new approved outlines are not showing

Thankyou
I can see all my history now but it still doesn't answer why my approved submissions are not showing on their respective title pages? It also doesn't tell me why I havnt been accredited with the approved edits?
And it also doesn't give me an option to submit a explanation as to why a exsiting outline on a particular film should be deleted on the declined submission?

IMDb can comment further (and they should), but I believe you can’t take (well, replace) the original copyright if you correct the existing Plot Outline.

From the guide:

”IMPORTANT - corrections and By: lines Bylines are important to the original author and other users. If you make corrections (spelling, grammar, etc) to a Plot Summary, please DO NOT change the byline. If you disagree with the plot summary and want to substantively change it, please submit a new one with your own byline rather than edit the original and add your own name to it.”

Okay great I understand that but I have seen on multiple film outlines 2 or more usernames credited with an outline and my edits where substainal enough for the editors to approve it and is now being shown on that title without my accreditation

And for the outlines/summaries I disagree with, I submit a deletion for those because they are blatantly incorrect and I submit my own correct outline for that title and it either gets approved and is not shown or gets declined and no reason is given

There then is no option to submit an explanation as to why a exsiting outline on a particular film should be deleted on a declined submissions

Please note plot outlines should be accredited to one individual; if you're changing the plot outline entirely, then you are the new author of that outline. If you're not changing it significantly, the original author remains.

Everything under "Approved outlines not showing:" Please note that we only accept one plot outline for a title, and discretion is exercised when determining which plot outline best fulfills our criteria. You should have received a different response, but in these cases, please know if your outline is not showing, this is why.

Same explanation for your requests to delete outlines; if the current outline fulfills our criteria, we won't be removing it to replace it with yours. If you want to modify a plot, please do that, rather than trying to delete the plot entirely.

Thanks for your response
I understand the editing outlines now so thankyou but I still see multiple users accredited with the outlines not just one individual as you say. I still believe I change them significantly on the above outlines and should be accredited.
Could I have a link to the criteria please for future submissions?

Okay I understand but I requested the outlines to be deleted because they are blantantly incorrect and very poorly written and does represent what the film is about. That is why I feel my approved outlines should replace the exsiting ones! Please sort this out!
It is quite inconsistent on your part, as this has occurred in the past and now it is not okay to do so.

Hi James, we recommend you submit modifications to the existing plot outlines that you believe to be incorrect. If you see plot outlines with multiple authorship, please feel free to submit a modification for our editors to review.

One problem could simply be the lack of explanation/proof. If someone really feels that the (existing) Plot Outline is blatantly incorrect, has spoilers, it’s written like a bad PR piece or critique - or something else why it should be changed/replaced/corrected, the box for...

”Provide an explanation to assist in processing this submission”

...should be ticked. I mean in many cases it could be very difficult (impossible even) for the IMDb data editors to know why the existing Plot Outline is ”wrong” and why the new one is better/more appropriate. Only way is to explain the reasons for the change.

Hmmmm. Remember you said this was not possible?
Care to comment. Why are you giving advice on a reason why in an explanation box to explain why the authors name should be changed when you told another person in this forum that it was not possible to change a plots author? You said "Read the rules"
I made this same reference to an older topic, and you debunked it as "Out of context"
Well here it is again "In Context" Thanks for creating a sea of confusion EBoy.

Ed please. Learn to take a deep breath before typing. Are you in this forum 24 hours a day, chasing ”bad guys” and your nemesis like me? It’s actually very interesting. Then again, kinda sad. Believe it or not, there’s a life out there. Go out. Smell the roses. Enjoy life. Have a beer. These are just film and TV credits.

And btw. I didn’t talk about replacing the original author (or By: lines). I’m talking about the situation where the existing Outline actually has some issues and it should be corrected/updated. They’re not written in stone and ”being first” doesn’t mean that the Plot Outline is untouchable forever. Let’s not lie or create illusions that Plot Outlines are sacred ground.

So again, just for Ed: If people really want to correct/update the Plot Outline - and yes, sometimes it actually can be recommended - prepare to explain why IMDb should approve the changes/corrections/updates. So, explain, provide proof, and: tick the box so you can do that.

And last tip that also applies to correcting/updating Outlines: if it ain’t broke, why try to fix it? That’s just common sense.
