It would be really helpful if the watchlist could also be filtered by what is currently available to stream on services such as Netflix or Hulu based on the country we are in.

I'm also looking forward for this feature:) But in the meantime you could use Netflix Enhancer. It's a very useful extension for Chrome browsers that adds some bells and whistles to your Netflix experience. Install the tool from the Chrome Web Store, and a small N icon appears in the browser address bar whenever you're on the Netflix site.
