I composed individual pieces for 5 different episodes of The Mentalist and want to post those credits on my IMDB page.  How can I do that?

This somewhat depends how you were credited on-screen.  Were you part of the main credit listings as a composer or did you compose specific tracks in the soundtrack section of the credits?

If the latter then please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/soundtracks/GKD97LHE9TQ49CZ7 and navigate to the appropriate episode pages and use the "Edit page" button.  For example, if your track was included in episode 7.1, start at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3760348/ [there's an example from 7.1 at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3760348/soundtrack already]

If you composed the main score and are credited as such, please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/composers/GFLLMYE6VJUXBYJT and https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/how-do-i-add-an-episodic-credit/GRRHU... (specifically Adding credits for multiple episodes)

If your credits belong in the music department, please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/music-department/G9QPJV4FV85BRM7X and https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/how-do-i-add-an-episodic-credit/GRRHU... (specifically Adding credits for multiple episodes)

Please let us know if you require any more specific instructions.

Thanks for getting back to me.   I've figured out how to navigate to the episodes but I don't see how to link to it or add my credit as composer of a piece of music in it.  I have one credit on my page and beneath that is a dropdown menu that says add to the list but I don't see any options for how to add anything.

Please read our answer above. If you are doing this on IMDbPro then in our example episode 7.1 at https://pro.imdb.com/title/tt4177592/ as shown below:

At the bottom of the page when you have entered all you can, hit the CHECK THESE UPDATES.
It sort of acts like a continue button. If you have done it correctly some new items will appear. Fill those out with the appropriate info and hit the CHECK THESE UPDATES again. You keep checking  By using the CHECK THESE UPDATES until yellow or pink shading becomes GREEN. Then a new button appears. SUBMIT THESE UPDATES. Done!

John, you need to add your credits to the series/episode pages (you don’t need to go to your IMDb name page).
Meaning, that you choose ”composer” and add your name. You also need to choose the episodes where you are credited. Please follow the guide from Col.

Also remenber that only main composer(s) go under ”Composers” (basically meaning credits like ”composer”, ”music by” or ”music composed by”). Credits like ”additional composer”, ”additional music”, ”composer: theme song” etc goes under ”Music Department”.
