I would like to understand why my contributions in French for a french film were apparently rejected.

Hi Serge -

I can see that the Plot Outlines you submitted were not approved because they were not written in the English language.  Please note that as per our Plots guide, we require that they Always be written in English, regardless of the language of the original film.

Please re-submit your Plot Outline in English and our editors will take another look.

I see occasionnally plots and summaries in french: for example "Alzeimer à visage humain" and "Elvis Gratton III; Le retour d'Elvis Wong". How is it possible if it is required that they always be written in English?

Serge Barrière, what are you talking about when "plots and summaries"?

The plots and summaries of these two examples are in French only.

My 0,5 cents: I'd rather see plots in French (or in German, Italian, Spanish, etc.) rather than the too often slaughtered English stemming from litteral translations word for word from these languages.

I hope to see IMDb multilingual again before I die...

I would rather see it in both English and the language of the primary country of production.  I've only translated 2 pieces for IMDb, but I felt uncomfortable doing that because I know I may be missing colloquialisms or other non-literal elements.

Yes, that was I also meant: being able to enter plot summaries, reviews, trivia's, etc. in whatever language, and relying on a translating AI to take care of the translation in whatever chosen language. Automated translation is mature enough now, and I just do not understand that Amazon is not investing in it.

Hi Serge,

As Michelle has stated, per our submission guides plot should be written in English regardless of the language of the original film. Thank you for highlighting the titles with the French plots, these have now been removed from the site following our guides. If you see any further plots listed in other languages you will be able to submit a correction or deletion of the plots using the 'edit page' button located at the bottom of the title page.

Thanks
Meredith
