Every time I submit an edit, it’s never approved. I’ve been using IMDb since 1999 according to my profile but my last contribution that was approved was back in 2014. I don’t think I’ve ever submitted anything that could be considered questionable, everything has been appropriate so I’m wondering if they’ve disabled my ability to edit

Hi BranStark, because this is your first time posting at GetSatisfaction's IMDb page, you will need an 18-digit Contribution ID number. If you already have the existing 18-digit Contribution ID number that is not approved. Some IMDb staffers will help you to approve your contribution it's either "Approved" or "Acknowledged" pending on a random IMDb staff member. Good luck!

Hi BranStark.
In addition to the excellent advice by ian_a.
Those 18 digit numbers are found at these 2 places.

https://contribute.imdb.com/contributions/history
Additionally the above link provides the reasons why a contribution was denied if they were.

Thanks

Hi thanks for your help. I didn’t know you could view declined contributions. My recent contribution was for a review to the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) and it just says “Declined!” but I can’t see a reason. The 18 digit number is 200302-191908-606804

If you mouse over the word "View Contribution Details", and click on it, it will reveal the reason. Most likely the generic reason is, "Does not meet contribution guidelines".

This is an approved contribution. But it shows your contribution in detail.
This is one that was declined on a release date modification.

If you would open up your contribution for the review that was declined, copy and paste the full review here.

Maybe we can help point out the areas in the review that failed to meet the "Guidelines". That way we can help you get better at writing reviews that will meet those "Guidelines"

I just resubmitted the same review thinking perhaps I’d forgotten to click the spoiler tag. Received the email to say the contribution had been submitted, clicked the link to check the status and straight away it said declined. This all within the space of 30 seconds.

It looks like my account has been suspended from contributing but I can’t understand why
