Correcting typos in a bio

I have read the mini bio of an acquaintance (deceased), and there are some typos in it. When I try to identify the problem using the EDIT link, I'm told that bios cannot be deleted. I know that; but how, and to whom, can I identify the typos so that they can be corrected?

Hi Ron,

You need to correct the item in our submission interface, not delete it. So you need to go to the name page, then scroll to the bottom and hit edit page. Then choose Biography Correct / Delete and select Correct on the next page to amend the item.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Will, but there is still a problem. When I do what you suggest, I get a message that says there is No Existing Data in the biography; but there is, indeed, a mini-bio, and that's what needs correcting. Is there someone to whom I can give the specific details? The issue is that the individual was a man, but the bio keeps calling him "she".

Ron: Is this biography written in a very bland, generic style that appears to be computer-generated? Examples:
Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in New York City, New York, USA as Donald John Trump. He is a producer and actor, known for The Apprentice (2004), Two Weeks Notice (2002) and Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump (2011). He has been married to Melania Trump since January 22, 2005. They have one child. He was previously married to Marla Maples and Ivana Trump.
Angela Merkel was born on July 17, 1954 in Hamburg, Germany as Angela Dorothea Kasner. She has been married to Joachim Sauer since December 30, 1998. She was previously married to Ulrich Merkel.
If so, then it's not something you can correct directly by editing the biography, but there are two ways to fix it.

1. Submit a correction to the person's Gender to indicate that he is male instead of female. The software will pick that up and change the references from "she" to "he". In fact, you should do this in any event.

2. Add a new Biography to the person's page. If IMDb has a human-written mini-biography for a person, the computer-generated biography will not appear.

If the biography was actually written by a person rather than automatically generated by IMDb software, please post a link to it so the contributors here can take a look.

Thank you Gromit82. Here is the link: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0877821/?ref_=nv_sr_1. The mini-bio seems to acknowledge that he is male (per his name), but then uses the pronoun "she". If simply replacing it with a corrected version would do the trick, I can try to do that.

Ron: I didn't get to see the biography before Will got the person's gender corrected, but as I suggested above, this is one of those generic, computer-generated biographies:
Ret Turner was born in 1929 in Marianna, Florida, USA as Walter Raymond Turner. He is known for his work on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour (1971), The Sonny and Cher Show (1976) and The 79th Annual Academy Awards (2007). He died on May 3, 2016 in West Hollywood, California, USA.
If someone doesn't have a human-written biography on IMDb, the software may generate one using some combination of the following data:

Date of birth
Place of birth
Birth name
Gender
Primary occupation(s)
Up to three "known for" titles
Marriage details including number of children if any
Date of death
Place of death

If I understand correctly, a person can have a computer-generated biography if they have data available in a certain number or combination of those data fields, although I don't know the exact requirements. If there are any inaccuracies in the computer-generated biography, those inaccuracies have to be corrected by correcting the underlying data from which the software produces the biography text. Or, of course, one can write a human-written biography to replace the computer-generated one.

Thanks to Will for resolving the problem.

Hi Ron,

It looks like the gender attached to the name page was set to female, not male. I've switched the gender now to male.
