Credit is approved for an actor but not for an actress

Just a minute ago I tried to add two new credits to an episode in Sunset Beach (1997-1999). The credits were adding Brian Patrick Clarke as an actor but voice only as well as uncredited. In the attribute field I wrote uncredited voice, which was accepted without any issues.

However when I tried to do the same thing with Elizabeth Alley the credit was rejected with the reason that "uncredited voice" as not one of the 24 attributes in the database. The only difference between these two credits is that the first one was marked as an actor while the second one was marked as an actress. When I instead marked Elizabeth Alley as an actor the credit came with a warning that Elizabeth Alley only had credits as an actress.

Why the difference?

While there are apparently 283 Actor credits with (uncredited voice) I believe the correct version is to enter 2 credits (uncredited) (voice).

Actors and Actresses are maintained on separate lists internally, and each list has its own set of attributes. After all, (director of photography) is valid for the Cinematographers list, but nonsense on Costume Design.

You can see the Actors attributes at http://www.imdb.com/updates/field/actors/attr and the Actress ones at http://www.imdb.com/updates/field/actresses/attr.

Hi,

Thanks for pointing this out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

As David said, the correct format is (uncredited)(voice).

I have now changed all (uncredited voice) attributes to (uncredited)(voice), so this should no longer be an issue.

Thanks,

Rebecca
