Credit order problem

I am EP on a film, I just made a credit order correction - 171225-111223-547000

Can I get this pushed through since its so messed up now?  Film comes out in 10 days.

Someone keeps messing with the credit order, is there anyway to lock the credit order?

No, there's no way to "lock it down". When the film comes out you can provide a screen grab of the on-screen credits and that should be enough evidence of the order that you say is correct

How are people able to change the order without this then? Also, there was a mistake in the credit order with one of our characters, he’s in the main title cards but not in the actual rolling credits in the proper order.
Film has already been finalized and is too late to fix.
I’m one of the EP’s on this film.

Did you say that you were the EP when you made the submission?
Maybe it was someone else working on the film who "messed it up"?

Anyone can make a submission about any film. That's why they are checked. If there's no evidence from the film itself then they use the person's contribution history and their reputation to decide whether to accept it or not.

Okay cool, so being that I’m Executive Producer on this and my amazing contribution history :) it should be pushed through no problem?
It’s a weird scenario, actor is in the main flashing credits of the film (only the top four are), but then way down the list in the end rolling credits.

But the IMDB doesn't take the "main flashing" into any account. They just take the order of credits shown from the most complete credits (usually the end credits) on screen

Why wouldn’t they? That’s ridiculousl, those are the main stars of the film.

"We are aware that casts in order of appearance or alphabetical order sometimes mean a lead actor is buried relatively deep in the cast list. This is somewhat unfortunate."

There's really no other organized way to handle it. If you go by the front order then do you randomly skip those people in the completed cast lists?

In my case, the current order is not alphabetical.
It’s completly random and messed up. It was done by someone who didn’t know what they were doing.
Would cost too much to fix at this point.

But not always, sometimes they're just the highest paid or most famous people people who only have a small cameo in the film  :)
Even the full list of on-screen credits don't always list those people first

Them's the rules that you signed up to by signing on to the IMDb and by submitting. Everyone can't make up their own rules

This is the correct order. Currently there are actors that are barely in the movie (one line) that are credited above main cast.

Most people check IMDb vs the rolling credits these days.
It’s the number one source for information.
I was hoping I could at least get it fixed here.
This is the most likely thing for people to reference anyway.

Wait until it’s released and then you can get a screen-grab if the on-screen credits as they are actually shown on screen in the first released version just like the instructions & guidance say Steve

But as you said main title cards aren’t accepted, the film hits theatres on Jan 5th. I already have any screen grab IMDb could need as I already have the film in my possession.. Problem is the rolling credits aren’t accurate.
I was hoping to negate that problem with IMDb.
I guess I will just delete the project from IMDb all together if I can’t get my credit order posted.
It’s a big disservice to the actors that were on set everyday working on the film.
I’m the EP on this film, there isn’t a better source of information than myself. Thanks for the all the info.

It’s not necessary to delete or remove anything. In any case, the IMDb aren’t fond of removing anything once it’s been added.

I’m sure that all of those hard working people would rather that their names were listed rather than not there at all, even if they’re in the wrong order

Be patient, the first thing you should learn with the IMDb is patience. Things can take time, but they usually get there soon enough.

Just wait until you can get the credit roll as is shown on-screen in the first publicly released version as per the instructions.

Film-makers often make late changes to the credit roll. Even the EP sometimes doesn’t get told about all of the late changes (or not in time)

The mistake was discovered too late. The costs wouldn’t be worth sending back to the studio for correction after the lock. We were hoping to get it accurate with IMDb since few people look at the rolling credits anyway.
I’m very involved in this film, nobody on the project knows more than myself. I’m very committed to the accuracy of this.

The IMDb aims to show the credits as seen on the film, not how you would rather they were shown Steve

That’s why I would just delete the project at that point. Would rather it be wrong in one place than two.
The reason for the screw up to begin with was a due to the fact that we filmed in Bulgaria. A language barrier caused its share of problems with this film.

I say again, don't try to delete anything. The IMDb is always reluctant to delete anything.
You never did say, what was the name of this troublesome title (I can't see your contributions)
