Credited on a project o Never worked on

So there is a credit on my account for a movie I never worked on. It’s something called Phoenix Forgotten (2017) - worse yet, it’s showing me as an Extra! How do I get this removed?!? Thanks!

You have a unique First and Last Name. No one has a name that is remotely close to yours. So it is not a case of mistaken identity.

Were you attached or in talks to be in the project at one time?

Nope. And even if my team was in talks- they would know not to accept or entertain an Extra role. ... so confusing and weird. :’(

It may be that you were considered for a role. A P.A. may have been told to add the cast names. Frequently undefined roles can be left blank. Sometimes "uncredited". Other times someone will just look at a list and go thinking, "Hm, what shall I call all these extra names that I have here that I'm supposed to add?" Hence "Extra". Not the same "Extra" Definition that we would normally associate, but a poor terminology choice by an inexperienced assistant.

Now, problem is, is that IMDb may chose to rule one way or the other on this. They will explain when an IMDb employee reads this in the  next 12 hours and replies.

So wait for that reply.

Hi darianne -

I reviewed the title and can confirm that your name, "Darianne Galden", was credited on-screen under the role "Extra", so the credit will need to remain listed on the site.  If you didn't participate on the film, you can add the "credit only" attribute to the credit, however, as your name was credited on-screen we cannot remove it.

I've checked each female face in Phoenix Forgotten (2017) video sequence, and confirm that Darianne Galden has "credit only" in this movie. Or there is a very little chance (I doubt) that one of the junior (under 12) girls has the same name that is not yet searchable in white pages or elsewhere.

you can add the "credit only" attribute to the credit
Change it from "Extra" to "credit only" as suggested.

MAthePA, that might also be a case of "(scenes deleted)" rather than "(credit only)", but since we have no confirmation to the former, latter will suffice.
