This person http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0826940 is credited as an actress when he in fact is an actor. How can you change so that he is credited as an actor instead of an actress?

That's odd, considering that the person has a male name, plays roles with male character names, and his only biographical trivia begins, "Father of folk musicians ..." I wonder how that happened.

Nevertheless, here is how to submit a correction:

Go to his page and click "Edit page" near the bottom of the page.

On the next screen, on the Gender line (near the bottom of the page), select "Add item". Click "Continue".

On the next screen, select "Male". Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, the submission should appear with a green background and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

I doubt any evidence should be necessary to prove this person's gender, but in case you have a web site to cite for that, you can submit the link via the data verification system (http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/data_ver...). See http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?ad... for an explanation.

Good luck!

Per the Wayback Machine as of March 7 2012 he was still listed as an actor, so the change to actress was fairly recent.

I wonder if that art department credit really belongs to the actor, or if that's a different person?

And just an FYI - there are currently some bugs with gender corrections (http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000042/f...) so it may take awhile for your correction to be processed.

Don't know if I should take this in this topic or if I shall create a new one. But now the gender has changed but besides that a seperate section for his "actress credits" has been created. How do I remove that section?

That's really bizarre. Some credits are in both the "Actor" and "Actress" section while others are in just the "Actor" section.

Since the change has just recently happened I'd give it a few days to settle as everything is hopefully still in motion.

Just in case this is a bug I've added a reply to the Contributors Board post: http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000042/n....

It looks like the Actress section is no longer displayed, see: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0826940/

He died in California.  But, why are you posting this as a reply to a 9 month old post about an actor's gender?

Edit to add:  There seems to be some confusion over where he died, though he'd been in Washington but this past week there was a court decision regarding his care in California...

I just looked at four sources and two said California two said Washington...all reputable news sites...
