Hi...Someone has created an IMDB profile for me without telling me. I would like to delete it please.
Can you please tell me how I can do this, or is this something you can do?
Thank you, Angela

I can see by your profile you have been credited in several films under several different names so at one stage you must have changed your name.
To get this changed you will likely need strong evidence that the name as recorded on IMDb does not match the screen credit.

Thank you for looking into this Walter. I have never changed my name, however my name has been misspelled on many occasions, some of which are evident on this site. As I stated in my initial message, I did not create this profile and would like it removed. I don't understand why the process to have it deleted, is such a complicated one. I would really appreciate you helping me with this.

Hi Angela -
It's our policy not to alter or delete any kind of correct/factual information or credit from our records, so if the credits are factual we cannot remove them or delete the filmography page.
As Walter mentioned, if there are errors with the listed credits where you were not credited on-screen under the listed name (ie. 'as Angela El Zeint ', 'as Angela El-Zeand', etc.), you will need to submit credit corrections instead of credit deletions through our update form.

So someone else created a public profile with my name and details, without my permission; a public profile which shows up any time someone types my name in a seacrh engine and displays information about me, which I would rather be private, (thus compromising my privacy) and you are telling me that it is against your policy to rectify this? If I was asking you to delete or alter film credits which show my name I understand your position, but this is a personal profile created without my knowledge and (now) against my wishes.

Angela, all that happend was that someone adding the credits of four or five titles and, when they added you to the credits for that title, they linked it with a previous entry for your work. I see that you recognize that "If (you were) asking you to delete or alter film credits which show my name (you would) understand (the IMDb's) position". It is exactly this kind of data that would be lost if your 'page' was removed. The only other way to 'change' the page would be to unlink all the different roles credited to you. This would create at least 5 IMDb pgaes with your name at the top instead of just one.

Thank you for your reply James, however that leaves me in a very vulnerable position because currently I have prospective employers, colleagues and students able to access information which I have chosen to not disclose. I don't understand how it is not possible to protect people's rights on this matter. Once again, I am pointing out that my privacy has been compromised and I have asked for IMDb to rectify this matter. Otherwise how else can I remove my name fom the credits?

IMDb won't remove film credits they believe are true and correct. It is like an encyclopedia collection of world films made available to the public. Everything on IMDb is accessed from public sources and in your case it was from the films you are in.
