I am trying to give credits to a producer, she has only done acting before so when I put her name in the producer field it said they could not find her, and I clicked the tab let IMDB decide. In the end they decided to create a new person all together for that credit.

I went into the new persons page, clicked edit, and messaged a correction giving a link to the correct persons name saying the credits should be moved to this girls page, but it never happened.

I went on her actual page and clicked edit, tried to add the credit and it said i needed to confirm which title it was because the film has a similar name to a few others. However it did not list the one she is a part of, nor give any options to find or move past if I didn't click one of the wrong options they were providing.

How do I get her the correct credits?

Easiest way will be to merge the new person into the proper person.

You do this by clicking edit on the new person page, then in the very first drop-down of 'name correction or merge' select change and then on the next screen you change the name to that of the proper person....the next screen will ask if you are sure you want to merge or not...but of course you do!

Hope this is clear - if you drop links of the pages in question, and be clear on the direction, I'm also happy to do the merge for you (which is an indication of how easy it is to do!)

Perfect, thank you! I think I did it right, if it looks like I screwed it up somehow I'll get back to you :)

FYI, there would have been an option to acknowledge that it is tbe first credit in that department for that person....that's what you should have chosen. It would have avoided creating a new person (name).
