Hello. First of all, i have to say that l'm a huge fan of IMDb site. I really appreciate such huge database. It's clearly the best website about movies in the world! (of course for those who can read in english).
I am from Poland. I can proudly say that we have Polish biggest movie site called Filmweb ( not that powerfull as IMDb but it is in the top 10 worldwide.

And the only thing that annoys me, is that filmweb has the current age of an artist (next to he's date of birth) and IMDb Doesn't.

Mel gibson (
Jason Statham (

There must be some easy was to add function that would compare date of birth to current date and show age of a person

I'm begging You, can anyone do something about this issue?

Best regards
Dragan V.

Dragan: One thing to take into account is that many actors hate having their date of birth posted on IMDb. In fact, the most famous lawsuit against IMDb is one in which an actress sued IMDb, claiming that having her date of birth posted caused her to become a victim of age discrimination.,_Inc.

Even though IMDb won that case, if IMDb were considering posting the ages of actors more prominently, they would probably have to weigh the benefits to users against the negative response they would receive from actors.

Thanks for reply. Well, if every known artist already has shown date of birth it wouldn't make a big change to put his/shes age in the bracket next to it. I don't believe its a crime. If i can calculate sam l. Jackson age basing on the shown date of birth you can give me that number as well. I really dont believe that lets say Christian Bale would sue imdb. This chick Hoang just wanted easy money, she ain't a star so let's make some public by suing amazon.
