Custom Comments to Items in Lists

Currently, I don't understand what is the designed way to add comments to items in your lists.

Consider a story: I'm on a page of a movie and I want to add this title to one of my lists, and also add some custom comments.

The only way I've come with is to add the item to the list (using a dropdown near Watchlist button), then go to the list itself, click 'Edit list', browse through pages to find the added title, add desired comment and finally click 'Save'.

This is really not user friendly at all.

An I missing something? Is there any better way?

Although a user can add a title to a list via the Watch list drop down, they cannot add a comment at the same time as the add the title. The user has to visit the list to add the comment.

Currently when a user adds a title to the via the Watch list drop down, they simply get a notification that the title has been added. One way to mechanize what you would like to do, is to ask the user whether they wish to add a comment at the time they add the title.

IMDb could add this feature. However, some users may prefer to only add titles and receive a confirmation. These users may find having to answer the question annoying.

Another way to implement this would be to allow a user to set whether they want to add a comment in their user preferences.

If you would like to have the ability to add comments at the time of adding a title to a list, then make a suggestion:
Allow a user to add comments when adding a title via the Watch list drop down.
How you would like to see this implemented.

If other users of IMDb's Get Satisfaction site agree with this suggestion, they click on the star next to the suggestion or click the +1. If there is a sufficient response, on the IMDb staff members may tage the suggestion with "under consideration".

Dan,

For not to annoy users that don't want to answer any questions, IMDB developers can add a link to a confirmation message "Item added" appearing after an item is added to the list in Watchlist dropdown. The link can lead to page (or popup) where comment is to be added.

I'll add this idea to your post in Ideas section.
