I am the stripper/dancer in the 1993 movie Amongst Friends.  I appear in every trailer I've seen & am also in the movie for over 1 minute & the actors engage in dialogue about me.  I have petitioned to be listed in the credits & was told to post here.  There are others listed in the credits as "girl on couch" - considering this, I feel I have enough of a significant role to be listed in the credits........help, please!!!

Are you listed in the on-screen credits? If so, can you get a screen grab of those credits?

If you are not listed in the on-screen credits; do you already have an on-screen credit listed on IMDb? If not, then you do not yet qualify to have an "uncredited" role listed. If you do already have on-screen credits listed, have you submitted the stripper/dancer role with the attribute of "uncredited"?

Yes I did submit a request under "uncredited" & this is the reply I received:

Greetings Ms. Divinity,

Thanks for your message.

If you have submitted an update and it has not been accepted, it means that our editors were probably unable to verify it and need further information/additional evidence.

If you are adding a credit for a film or TV show, the best evidence is a screen grab/image showing the person's name and credit as it appears in the main or end titles of that show.

In order to help our staff verify the credit, we suggest you obtain a screen grab of the credit and post in our online support community at http://getsatisfaction.com/imdb

The best way to do this is:

1) Find your original submission in your update history at http://www.imdb.com/updates/history

2) Verify that all the data is still valid. If you need to update/amend the information, you can do so and resubmit the entry.

3) Make a note of the update reference number (it's the number composed of three groups of 6 digits separated by dashes, e.g. 121027-090001-134000)

4) Go to our public online support community at http://getsatisfaction.com/imdb (if you don't already have an account you will be asked to register)

5) Add a new question and post the screen grab as an image along with the update reference number for the corresponding submission. You can also enter any additional information, comment or feedback. The more data/evidence you supply, the better.

6) Submit the form.

Our editors will review the image and comments you have supplied and use them to re-examine your update. If they can verify that the submission is eligible to be included, they will accept it.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Molly

Divinity: The problem is that normally, in order to have any uncredited roles listed in IMDb, a person has to have at least one credited work listed in the database. See http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?uncreditedcredits, especially paragraph 2.

Are you currently listed in IMDb for any other projects you have worked on? If so, you should be able to submit this uncredited role to IMDb. But if not, you will probably have to get credited for something else first before this uncredited role can be listed.

No, I haven't been credited in anything else that I know of.  Tell me how they credit a "girl on couch" or "guy at bar," but not someone with definite onscreen airtime, dialogue about them, etc?

Well, Haley Guzman is listed in the On-Screen Credits, that I can confirm, though it strained my eyes today to watch them..not all easily seen. If the filmmakers gave them credit, all IMDb is doing is recording that fact. There are no "uncredited" listings on that film. I may take a look at those credits again but the resolution is terrible.

However, even if there were those listed with "uncredited" they would have to have at least one on-screen credit to get it listed. Did you read the link that veto it provided?
